New York’s St. Vincent (a.k.a. Annie Clark) will release her self titled album on February 21st. We were pretty darned excited to bring you the track “Digital Witness” in January and now we’re equally delighted to share the clip with you. 
You can also listen to “Birth In Reverse” and "Prince Johnny" from the forthcoming album.
St. Vincent’s show with David Byrne in January last year made it into our Best Gigs of 2013 list so its safe to say we’re fans!

"This video was borne from a dream i had a few months ago about teenagers in their own world, a world with hierarchies and initiations, where the boy who was second in command had acne on his face, and so did the girl who was queen. i dreamt about this world being so different to anything anyone had ever seen, a dark world full of tropical plants and ruins and sweat. and of this world, i dreamt about tests that didn’t need to be passed in order to be allowed in: sometimes the person who loses is stronger. enjoy xx"

Pixies - Another Toe In The Ocean

"Another Toe In The Ocean" comes from Pixies' 2013 release EP-1. The band will continue their 2013 - 2014 global tour in the new year by headlining Lollapalooza in Chile, Argentina and Brazil and performing at Estereo Picnic in Colombia before heading to Europe for a series of festival appearances including the headline spot at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. Touring bass player for the North American, South American and European dates will be Paz Lenchatin from A Perfect Circle, ZWAN and The Entrance Band.

This track is the final cut on the Pond album Hobo Rocket which was our feature album at the start of August. The video was created by Jesse Taylor Smith and Jenna Eriksen, and whilst it appears innocuous initially, it turns out to be quite an emotional clip.

Arcade Fire - Afterlife

The video for "Afterlife" provides a view into a night in the life of a man and his two sons, after the passing of the boys' mum. The hopes and fears of the boys and their father in a world without their mother and partner, respectively, are presented as a short film. The clip was directed by Emily Kai Bock, and the track comes from Arcade Fire's album Reflektor, which was the MadfaMusic feature album the week of 11 November 2013. Jen Cloher - Hold My Hand

Melbourne musician Jen Cloher's new video is based on a conversation she overheard her parents having shortly before her Mum was moved into full time care. Suffering from Alzheimer’s, Jen's mum asked her dad “Tom, how did we meet again?” Her dad gave a lengthy explanation of how they met and a description of their courtship which included Jen's Mum wooing her Dad by sending him lots of Dionne Warwick and Aretha Franklin on vinyl.

David Bowie's new video cost a grand total of $12.99 - the cost of the USB drive he purchased to put the finished product on.  He wrote, shot and edited the video himself and enlisted his assistant and a friend to assist. The clip was shot in his Manhattan office and makes use of puppets in his collection.
