MadfaMusic Feature Albums May 2013

Hanni El Khatib - Head in the Dirt
(Feature Album 27 May 2013)

Head In The Dirt is Los Angeles resident Hanni El Khatib's second album and was produced by Dan Auerbach from The Black Keys. Rolling Stone describe it as "desert-burned blues rock boosted by punk, soul and hip-hop – music that has a retro heart but couldn't have been made before 2013."

The follow up to James Blake's 2011 self titled album has been eagerly awaited by fans and critics alike, and the 24 year old UK electronic music producer and singer/songwriter has delivered. Released in Australia in April, we've been enjoying it for a while now but thought it was time to shine a spotlight on it.

Matthew E. White - Big Inner (Feature Album 6 May 2013)

The 30 year old American's debut album seems to defy classification, with reviewers citing all manner of genres, including reggae-infused folk-gospel, psychedelic country-soul, indie pop, funk, prog-folk, jazz and R&B. It was released in North America in 2012 and everywhere else on 25 Jan 2013. White was heralded as a Consequence of Sound Rookie of the Year and Paste Magazine's Best New Act of 2012, with Big Inner scoring Album of the Week in The Guardian and an Honorable Mention in Pitchfork's 2012 Album of the Year list. We love it and are excited to be bringing it to you as the MadfaMusic Feature Album this week.
